Our Favorites: Lacinato Kale
These unique blue-green heavily savoyed leaves on extremely vigorous plants offers sweet, tender greens that are ideal for raw kale salads, soups and dynamic any way you prepare it. These grow nicely throughout the summer as exceptionally large, vigorous and cold tolerant greens. Lacinato kale is hearty enough to grow through the frost and early snow when it sweetens up. Also known as Tuscan kale, pick it early and often, blanche and freeze it to enjoy throughout the year.
Thanks to breeder Frank Morton of Wild Garden Seeds, who believes that anything is possible and is persistent in his breeding and trials so that we can share the most nutrient dense, flavorful varieties. His grit and talent working with nature is a gift that is well worth sharing.
